Assistant Grants Surveyor required, Banbury
As Assistant Grants Surveyor in our busy Grants Team you will play an important part in helping improve the living conditions and health of vulnerable, disabled and older people in our District. You will provide technical and process support in the delivery of our range of grants, but principally those concerned with disabled facilities, and will provide advice and information to clients and others about grant procedures and policies, in person, by telephone and email. Using your surveying and design skills you will undertake site visits to assess and report on the suitability of property for adaptation, repair and improvements. You will produce schedules, specifications, sketch designs and CAD plans for discussion and tendering and will assist with the processing of grant applications, payments, with the production and checking of documents and the maintenance of records and databases. This role would be well suited to an architectural technician or CAD technician seeking to develop their experience and involvement with running jobs.
You will have either a degree-level technical qualification or a technical qualification such as an HNC or HND relating to architecture, construction, building design, surveying or housing standards. You must be able to survey residential premises to identify materials, defects, the potential for remediation and adaptation and any constructional constraints and to use AutoCAD software to prepare scaled, annotated, technical drawings. You will have an in-depth knowledge of building terminology, basic construction methods and common defects, gained through training and experience, and will also have experience in the practical delivery of building projects. You must be able and willing to travel to and work at premises throughout the district.
