The Northern Ireland Regional Committee would like to invite members to join the annual Ulster University TALK AT and End of Year Show event

The event will take place online via a live webcast, on the evening of Wednesday 17 June 2020, from 19:00-20:30.

The theme for the evening will be Architectural Technology, Wellbeing & COVID-19.

The event, hosted by David Comiskey MCIAT, will have a focus on wellbeing and performance, both in relation to the design of spaces and the mental wellbeing of industry professionals in these uncertain times. There will be contributions from the following speakers:

Eddie Weir PCIAT, President, Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists

Mel McGerr MCIAT (Director at MMA Architects) discussing the design of healthy spaces and mental health and wellbeing

plus special guests:

Motivational speaker Enda McNulty on nurturing performance, culture and wellbeing

Jordi Armada Soler from FC Barcelona will provide an update on the Espai Barca development and how the club have responded to COVID-19

Enda is CEO at McNulty Performance and holds a degree in psychology from Queens University and a Masters in Sports Science from Ulster University. He has worked with household names in many sports including golf major winner Shane Lowry. He has held influential positions with Leinster rugby (as performance coach during their period of winning 3 European Heineken Cups in 5 years) and as a high-performance coach with the Irish Rugby team. He has also developed a strong reputation in business, working global organisations like Amazon, Facebook and Microsoft. The mission of his company is to inspire clients to achieve their full potential; whether that’s in business, in sport, or life. His team specialises in Leadership Development, High Performance Team Development, Performance Coaching, Growth Mindset, Resilience, Mental Toughness training, Transformation, Flow, and Wellbeing in Business and Elite sport. Enda is also the author of a best-selling book called (Commit) and himself had a distinguished playing career with Armagh, winning seven Ulster titles, a National League and an All-Ireland title.

There will also be a display of work from the graduating students from the Architectural Technology and Management programme as well as a series of rapid research presentations from the same cohort on a range of topics including generative design, biophilic design, tiny homes, cavity barriers and passive fire protection, modular construction for social housing and the £100K House.

This is an evening of CPD and is not to be missed. It will provide a (virtual) opportunity to catch up with friends and view and listen to the work of the next generation of Architectural Technologists.
