Plymouth City Council Building Control and the Devon Building Control Partnership would jointly like to invite you to a FREE conference sponsored by LABC.

This year it includes FREE CPD events jointly with Devon Building Control Partnership.

The Building Together Devon event will consist of 12 trade stands, three guest speakers and a free lunch.

The event will enable you to visit the trade stands and there will be ample time for networking opportunities with various companies and Building Control surveyors.

Accessible from the A38 at Ashburton midway between Newton Abbot and Plymouth

From design to occupation. This session will look at best practice in fire safety at all stages from client briefing to occupation of the building. It outlines the main considerations at design stage, the options available to designer and the roles and responsibilities of the key players all the way through to handover and occupation.

Construction significant geology in Devon
Devon includes a wide variety of different geological formations which can in many cases provide challenging engineering problems for contractors and developers.  Significant engineering problems can include limestone solutioning, shrinking and swelling clays, historic mining / quarrying and slope/coastal  stability.  This presentation will discuss where these engineering problems are likely to be encountered, how they affect development and how they are overcome.
