The conference will present the latest developments in policy, training, research, case studies and practical applications.
STBA-SPAB Conference
The conference will start by exploring how emerging retrofit policy will impact the traditional building stock, with presentations from representatives of UK Government, Welsh Government and Historic Environment Scotland.
You will then hear from a variety of insulating render systems so that delegates can learn more about the thermal and moisture properties of the best available systems.
You will also hear how the use of plastics can be reduced. Delegates will be provided with an overview of STBA's major BEIS-funded project to test out the Whole-House approach to retrofit. This is timely as it is entirely consistent with the new PAS2035 standard for retrofit which may be published in time for the conference.
The day will conclude with a presentation from UCL on how heritage values among the general public affect the decision-making process when domestic buildings are refurbished, an important subject which has had insufficient attention to date. A Q&A session chaired by Douglas Kent of the SPAB will bring the conference to a close.
