Dublin: The National Water Services and Flood Management Conference 2017

Conference 20 - 12 Jul 2017
6 CPD pts Republic of Ireland Centre

This conference will examine key challenges in this area, including an overview of the current issues, as well as upcoming developments (and opportunities) in the water sector.

Much has been reported nationally about Ireland’s water infrastructure and services, yet there appears to be a significant difference between what is actually going on ‘on the ground’ and what has been reported regarding Irelands water industry.

Certainly, new regulations and compliance obligations have been introduced recently, there are new developments in flooding prevention, drainage and flood plain management and forecasting, activity and developments in waste water management are ongoing, there are plans to develop Irelands future water infrastructure and there is the whole issue of smart metering, water bills and more.

The NATIONAL WATER CONFERENCE, hosted by CMG Events, Ireland’s largest business conference organisers, is taking place in September and will look closely at the key topics mentioned above. This conference will examine key challenges in this area, including an overview of the current issues, as well as upcoming developments (and opportunities) in the water sector. It will examine what measures are currently required to improve urban wastewater treatment in Ireland. Talks will include topics such as the use of flood forecasting to ensure our assets are more flood resilient, and the future shape of flood management in Ireland, as well as current thinking for better urban surface water management, and the use of satellite and rainfall data to improve forecasting and decision-making. Also on the agenda will be the key issue of water regulation and the CER’s role in this area, as well as key legislation to be aware of and it’s planning implications.

If you operate directly, indirectly or as a service to the water sector, you may want to consider this event as a ‘must attend’ conference.
