75% of all made-ground samples contain asbestos: not unexpected given the many thousands of tonnes of asbestos used historically in a wide range of building products and other industries.
This presentation from David O’Hagan and Elizabeth Newbold will explore this issue in more detail and cover the initial survey, identification and risk assessment of asbestos in soils. They will consider the appropriate remediation and waste management process including highlighting current regulatory and industry guidance. As part of this delegates will have the opportunity to look at relevant case studies.
