London: the UK Commercial Property Market - Policy priorities, opportunities and market stability

Conference 16 Jan 2018
Greater London

This event is CPD certified

This conference will bring together key policymakers and stakeholders to discuss the future for the UK’s commercial property market - including the impact of Brexit and the development of Government’s Industrial Strategy.

It follows the creation of the Government Property Agency, which will take responsibility for the public sector property portfolio - and attendees will discuss the Government’s plans for the future management and disinvestment of its real estate assets.

Delegates will also consider implications of Government policies for the market, including the impact of the 2017 Business Rates re-valuation, and uncertainty over the future of the 100% business rate retention policy for councils.

Further sessions will discuss investment and growth opportunities for the sector post-Brexit, as well as following the FCA’s response to its consultation on illiquid assets and investment funds, and its review of property funds and risks.

Speakers and delegates are expected to be a senior and informed group including Members of both Houses of Parliament, senior government officials involved in this area of public policy, together with commercial property lettings and management companies, developers, local authorities, Local Enterprise Partnerships, business associations, public sector estate holders, the associated legal and financial services sectors along with interested consultancies and economists - as well as members of the national and trade press.
