19th Annual AIBD North Carolina & South Carolina Design Conference and Trade Show

The 19th Annual AIBD North Carolina & South Carolina Design Conference and Trade Show was once again a huge success.

The 19th Annual AIBD North Carolina & South Carolina Design Conference and Trade Show took place in North Myrtle Beach, SC on the first weekend in March.

There were over 100 total attendees, including AIBD members, non-member design professionals, exhibitors and guests from North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Louisiana and Colorado. The event included diverse educational programs, including structural software training, social media and marketing strategies, information on integrating solar power into projects, presentations on achieving indoor air quality and lessons learned from Hurricane Florence from an engineer’s perspective.

There were also multiple networking opportunities with the Hospitality Suite and the Friday night Networking Dinner, where AIBD Vice President Bernie Kern gave the “live” welcome address via phone from Colorado. Also, awards were presented to winners Len Van Staalduinen & Todd Tucker in the Working Drawing Competition.

The 2-day conference concluded with a Trade Show, where 18 vendors offered information on a variety of products.

Thanks to the participation and support of sponsors, exhibitors and attendees ,the AIBD were able to make a $2000 donation to the AIBD College of Fellows Scholarship Fund.

Plans are already in the works for the 20th Annual Conference scheduled for March 6 & 7, 2020 at the Ocean Drive Beach & Golf Resort in North Myrtle Beach, SC.
