Recent developments to note

Members in the Republic of Ireland are reminded of some recent developments in BIM legislation that they should be aware of.

1. Government Strategy For Digitalisation

In November 2017 it was announced that Building Information Modelling (BIM) will be required in the design, construction and operation of public buildings and infrastructure over the next four years. See details here.

2. Roadmap to Digital Transition

The National BIM Council has published its Roadmap to Digital Transition. The full text is available to view here. 

3. NSAI and BIM standards

The National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) have established a Technical Mirror Committee, to monitor the development of 'standards' internationally and within Europe. Further details can be seen here.
