Consultation on electric vehicle chargepoints in residential and non-residential buildings

Members are invited to respond to proposals to alter existing residential and non-residential buildings regulations to include electric vehicle infrastructure requirements.

CIAT members are invited to respond to proposals to alter existing residential and non-residential buildings regulations to include electric vehicle infrastructure requirements.

The Department for Transport and Office for Low Emission Vehicles are proposing to:

1.  alter building regulations for new:

  • residential buildings to include requirements for electric vehicle chargepoints
  • non-residential buildings to include requirements for electric vehicle chargepoint infrastructure

2.   Introduce requirement for existing non-residential buildings to have electric vehicle chargepoints
