Design Review Panel

Southwark Council are looking for new volunteers to join the Design Review Panel.

The Design Review Panel consists of innovative and distinguished architecture and design practitioners who have significant design expertise and can offer highly skilled independent advice on all aspects of design and development.

The panel meets monthly and reviews a wide range of publically significant development proposals across the borough of Southwark. Development proposals are presented to the panel by the applicant. The panel then produce a report of their comments that's passed to planning officers for consideration. While the role of the panel is purely advisory, the panel's comments can carry weight when decisions are made on planning applications.

The design review ensures high standards of design within the borough by assessing the design of a proposal and suggesting ways to improve its quality. You can find more information on the design review process here.

If you are interested in applying, visit southwark.gov.uk for more information.

The deadline for submissions is Monday 10 June 2019.
