Draft London Plan: update

Secretary of State's response

The Institute recently responded to a consultation regarding the Draft London Plan, and we were advised yesterday that a letter from the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government (the Rt Hon Mr James Brokenshire MP) has been sent to the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, on the need for a revised London Plan in place that meets London's housing needs.

The revised National Planning Policy Framework published on 24 July 2018 sets out that the government expects plans to be reviewed early where all identified housing need is not being met and to ensure a plan is in place which reflects current national policy.
