CIC announce result of election of Deputy Chair of CIC Health & Safety Committee

The election of the Deputy Chair or the CIC Health & Safety Committee took place on 16 October after the meeting of the Membership Panel.

Four candidates were proposed: Philip Baker, Paul Bussey, Stephen Coppin and Malcolm Shiels.

The CIC rules require the winning candidate to receive 50% + 1 of the votes cast and for the candidate with the lowest number of votes to be eliminated in successive ballots until the winning candidate has 50% + 1 of the votes.

The result of the election was that Paul Bussey was elected at the third ballot.

Paul's term of office will be until June 2022 (after which he is eligible for re-election for a further three-year term).

Graham Watts, said: "On behalf of the Membership Panel, I should like to warmly congratulate Paul and thank the other candidates for their interest and express the hope that they will be able to continue to support the committee in other ways."
