Information request for BIM research by University of Wolverhampton

Request for information regarding research project.

The School of Architecture and Built Environment at the University of Wolverhampton are currently running a Climate KIC project. This particular project is part of the Climate-KIC’s* professional mobility programme Pioneers into Practice.

For this project, the intention is to conduct an assessment of the level of integration of environmental evaluation into BIM as part of refurbishment projects.

In particular, they are interested in a case study of projects (especially refurbishment), developed in the BIM environment where LCA or similar environmental performance assessments were incorporated.

The objectives of the investigation are:

  1. To analyse a single aspect/performance involved in the BIM environment (i.e. what performances (such as structural, energy, environmental) were analysed in the case study);
  2. To determine the tool(s) or plug-in(s) that were used to achieve those; and
  3. To determine if the environment profile was obtained from the use of the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) and what the strengths and weaknesses were if so?

If you are willing to share any relevant information on issues regarding your experience in the use of the BIM in this way, please kindly contact Elisabetta Palumbo, Project Researcher [email protected]. All data will be treated with strict compliance with GDPR.
