IR35

A consultation on IR35 closes on 28 May 2019, and any proposed changes are likely to be implemented in April 2020.

The IR35 legislation was introduced to address taxation and employment status issues for those who are either self-employed, contracting or ‘free-lancing’. 

 

Members who are unsure if they could be affected by this should seek professional advice, but further information can be obtained from HMRC at https://www.gov.uk/money/ir35.  This link includes different scenarios and tests that can be used to assist in determining individuals' statuses.
