Two funds launched for housing

Land Assembly Fund and Small Sites Fund

The Communities Secretary the Rt Hon James Brokenshire MP has launched two new funds to facilitate easier access to construction sites.

The government is intervening by providing two streams of investment – the Land Assembly Fund and the Small Sites Fund – for Homes England to deploy alongside their expertise. This aims to help release land to deliver 300,000 new homes a year by the mid-2020s.

The £1.3 billion Land Assembly Fund will be used to acquire land needing work and get it ready for the market, with the aim of making it less risky for developers to invest in and start building. Outside London this work will be carried out by Homes England.
