WICE Awards close for nominations on 25 January

Female Architectural Technologists are encouraged to enter the WICE Awards 2019 by the President

Having been involved with the European Women in Construction and Engineering (WICE) Awards, as both a judge and as a speaker over the last couple of years, I encourage our female members to enter the Best Woman Architectural Technologist Award category.

These Awards present the opportunity to recognise the best females across construction and engineering. As President, it is fantastic to see the exceptional level of entries into the category for Best Woman Architectural Technologist which provides an opportunity to showcase our discipline to the industry and wider public. In supporting these Awards, we are promoting the discipline, profession and Institute and also demonstrating our commitment to gender balance in an industry that is still thwart with a gender inbalance; whilst this is changing attitudes can take time to change for the better. I await the day that these Awards will no longer be required because there is a gender balance across our industry.

However, in the meantime and until we reach that point, let us ensure we nominate the Best Women in Architectural Technology and that we continue to have a place at the table and showcase our discipline. The deadline for nominations is fast approaching!  We invite you to consider submitting a nomination.
