Working Group 8 consultation

Creating the role and determining the competences necessary for Dame Judith’s ‘Building Safety Manager’.

As part of the Industry Response to Dame Judith Hackitt’s Report, a number of working groups have been established to review the recommendations and deliver Dame Judith’s vision. 

Working Group 8 (WG8) was tasked with creating the role, and determining the competences necessary, for Dame Judith’s ‘Building Safety Manager’. The work has included looking at the wider environment and influences that would impact on the proposed role, and WG8’s consolidated recommendations have been brought together in the document below as a ‘Draft for Consultation’.

Even though this is not an ‘official’ consultation, as it is being undertaken by the Working Group directly, a wide range of opinions on the proposals as reasonably possible has been requested, and CIAT has been given the opportunity to respond to this. The link to the survey is below:

The survey will be available until the end of the working day on 12 March 2019. The responses will be consolidated and considered by the working group prior to the issue of the final report, with recommendations to the Industry Response Group later in March 2019.
