WSP join a growing list of CEnv Employer Champions

The Society for the Environment is delighted to announce that one of the world's leading professional services firms, WSP, has been successful in their application to be recognised as a Chartered Enivronmentalist (CEnv) Employer Champion.

WSP are one of the largest employers of CEnv registrants. It therefore came as no surprise that they have the mechanisms in place to truly champion their environmental professionals and to develop aspiring registrants. But, WSP are not going to be resting on their laurels, with plans in place to further develop their environmental credentials across the business.

Upon receiving the positive news from the Society for the Environment, Environment Director at WSP, Ross Singleton CEnv said: "At WSP we consider employee progression vital to the success of our business and we fully support our people in their development towards achieving chartered status. Becoming one of the first organisations to achieve Chartered Environmentalist Employer Champion status is a measure of the committment we give to the development of our employees and we are delighted to have achieved this recognition. We will continue to encourage our colleagues to aspire to and achieve Chartered Environmentalist status."

WSP join eight other organisations who have met the requirements to be recognised as CEnv Employer Champions, with another successful application confirmed internally this week – an announcement coming soon! CEnv Employer Champions now include:

  • Anglian Water
  • Arup
  • Atkins
  • Environment Agency
  • Locogen
  • Skanska
  • Willmott Dixon
  • Wills Bros Civil Engineering Ltd
  • WSP

Each of the CEnv Employer Champions above, including WSP, have demonstrated that they provide valuable support to their employees when working towards chartership, have clear pathways to mentors and/or CPD opportunities, hold their expert CEnv registrants in high regard and champion professional registration from a senior level. The Society congratulates all organisations who have met the standard and welcomes the continued collaborative opportunities that are being developed from this project.

Remember, Employer Champions can be big or small. They can have just one registrant in their team. But they must champion the expertise, influence and importance of those with environmental professional registrations (CEnv and REnvTech).
